MCF Elects New Board Members, Officers
December 29, 2005
The Minnesota Council on Foundations, a membership organization that works actively to strengthen and expand philanthropy, elected Karl Stauber, president of Northwest Area Foundation, as board chair for 2006. Other officers and new directors also were elected at a recent annual meeting of members.
Holly Sampson, executive director of the Duluth-Superior Area Community Foundation, will continue as vice chair. Karen Kelley-Ariwoola, vice president-community philanthropy of The Minneapolis Foundation, was elected secretary and Richard Scott, vice president-finance of The McKnight Foundation, treasurer.
New directors are Gloria Edin, executive director of Centro Legal and trustee of the Women’s Foundation of Minnesota and The Initiative Foundation; David Etzwiler, senior director of The Medtronic Foundation; and Barbara Kaufmann, manager-corporate contributions, 3M Foundation. Daniel Johnson, executive director of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Minnesota Foundation, will serve one year as past board chair.
Founded in 1969, the Minnesota Council on Foundations serves the Minnesota community of grantmakers. The Council is a regional membership association working to improve the vitality and health of Minnesota communities. Council members include family and private foundations, community and other public foundations, and corporate foundations and giving programs.
