Guide to Minnesota Grantmakers
Aug. 16, 2007
The most up-to-date print directory of Minnesota grantmakers is now available. The Minnesota Council on Foundations, which works actively to strengthen and expand philanthropy, released the Guide to Minnesota Grantmakers, 2007-2008 Edition.
This 15th edition of the popular Guide is the largest and most comprehensive resource on the state’s foundations and corporate giving programs and provides hard-to-find information on some 1,400 Minnesota grantmakers of all sizes, with information found in no other printed source.
“The Guide to Minnesota Grantmakers has long been Minnesota’s premier print directory of grantmaking information,” said Council president Bill King. “The Guide demonstrates the commitment of the state’s grantmakers to be open about their work and effective partners with nonprofits.”
The 2007/2008 edition includes detailed profiles for 400 Minnesota grantmakers, with information on the types of organizations and programs they fund, their geographic priorities, how to apply to the funder for grants, financial data and much more. To facilitate research, the publication’s seven indexes help identify funders by areas of interest, geographic focus, types of support, intended beneficiaries, staff and directors/trustees. The guide also features comprehensive background information and resources on Minnesota grantmaking and grantseeking to assist fundraisers.
The 376-page Guide to Minnesota Grantmakers is available for $90. More information and an order form can be found on the Council’s website at www.mcf.org/guide or by contacting the Council at 612.338.1989, info@mcf.org. The Guide also is available at libraries around the state.
Founded in 1969, the Minnesota Council on Foundations serves the Minnesota community of grantmakers. The Council is a regional membership association working to improve the vitality and health of communities. Council members include family and private foundations, community and other public foundations, and corporate foundations and giving programs.
