Council Launches Web's Largest Minnesota
Grantmaker Database Minnesota Grantmakers Online Now Available at www.mcf.org/mngrants MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. (May 21, 2002) Finding the latest information on Minnesota's charitable funders got easier today with the launch of Minnesota Grantmakers Online at www.mcf.org/mngrants. A subscription service of the Minnesota Council on Foundations, Minnesota Grantmakers Online lets people search the largest and most up-to-date database of Minnesota grantmakers and grants that is available online. "With Minnesota Grantmakers Online, the Council and our members have taken great strides forward in improving the efficiency and effectiveness of Minnesota's grantmaking and nonprofit sector," said Council president Bill King. "Whether you're a nonprofit, a grantmaker or a donor, our new, affordable online database can streamline the process of researching potential grant sources, finding new funding partners and accessing the latest information on the philanthropy field." Users can search Minnesota Grantmakers Online's database of more than 1,000 Minnesota foundations and corporate grantmakers using up to nine criteria. The database includes detailed grantmaker profiles with information on a funder's giving priorities, application procedures, finances, contacts and more. In addition, users can search the Council's exclusive database of more than 50,000 grants awarded by Minnesota's largest grantmakers, using up to eight search criteria. Access to Minnesota Grantmakers Online is available for an annual subscription fee, starting at $160 per year. People can subscribe online, by fax or by mail by going to www.mcf.org/mngrants and clicking on the "Subscribe Now" icon. Free access to Minnesota Grantmakers Online is available at the five Foundation Center Cooperating Collection libraries across Minnesota. Development of Minnesota Grantmakers Online was made possible thanks to the generous financial and/or in-kind support of ADC, IBM and Faegre & Benson LLP. Founded in 1969, the Minnesota Council on Foundations' mission is to strengthen and to increase participation in philanthropy. The Council is a regional membership association of grantmakers working to improve the vitality and health of our communities, with a broad and diverse membership that includes private foundations, community and other public foundations, and corporate foundations and giving programs.
