Beyond the Basics of Grant Evaluation

Date: November 13, 2008

Time: 8:30 a.m. - noon

Location: Dorsey-Ewald Conference Center, St. Paul Directions

Cost: $55 MCF members, $75 nonmembers

Audience: This session is geared toward those who have a basic understanding of evaluation methods and who want to enhance their knowledge with the most current information and resources.

Panelists:
Sida Ly-Xiong, Associate Director of Evaluation and Research, Women's Foundation of Minnesota
David Nicholson, Program Director, Headwaters Foundation for Justice

Methods for judging the success of funded initiatives are essential for grantmakers who want to understand the impact of their grants. How can your foundation translate its mission and goals into outcomes grantees can measure?

Learn to develop reporting guidelines that provide the information you need and also encourage grantees to think creatively about developing, measuring and analyzing outcomes.

Colleagues will share how they evaluate the impact of grantees and their programs using qualitative and quantitative measurements, and ways to implement realistic and productive evaluation strategies. Hear methods to review grantee reports to aggregate results in a meaningful way.
