(those with annual revenues above $500,000) seeking funds from grantmakers
-

campaign environment and context of multiple campaigns in order to make
decisions about allocating limited dollars and making gifts to specific
organizations
-
Assists nonprofits in understanding the climate in which they are raising
funds
The survey provides a snapshot of capital and endowment fundraising in Minnesota
as of January 2008; it is not a comparative year-by-year study. Our last survey
of this kind was conducted in 1997. This report is for information purposes only
and does not imply any judgment regarding the projects listed or the
organizations involved.
It is important to note that responses to this survey were voluntary; as such,
it can be assumed that the survey has not captured all current and future
campaigns in Minnesota. Best efforts were made to capture campaign information,
including detailed follow-up to large arts and higher education institutions.
Research and support for this project were provided by Laurel Feddema of
Steppingstone Consulting, Inc. and staff at MCF: Anne Graham, information
services and database assistant; Megan Sullivan, communications associate;
Crystal Colby, web communications associate; and Cindy Oberg-Hauser, member
services assistant.
Sincere thanks to the nonprofit agencies that completed the survey, as well as
to the Medtronic Foundation, which provided underwriting support.
