n/a represents data that was not available.
The Minnesota Council on Foundations compiles a ranking of the top corporate funders each year based on cash contributions made by the corporate foundation and/or corporate giving program. In order to ensure that grantmakers are compared consistently, we do not include in-kind or other non-cash contributions in making the rank listing.

* Grants Paid in Minnesota includes only the corporate foundation's grant dollars and does not include the corporate giving program grants.

Target Foundation & Corporation reported combined cash and in-kind contributions of $147 million for the fiscal year ending 1/28/2006. A separate cash contribution total was not provided.

(1) 2005 Grants Paid in Minnesota includes only the foundation and corporate grants but does not include business unit contributions.

(2) United Health Foundation has additional direct charitable distributions in the form of mission-related programs and projects that amount to $19,666,545.

(3) Total U.S. contributions: $95,200,000.
