1 The Minnesota Council on Foundations (MCF) compiles a ranking of the top corporate funders each year based on cash contributions. In order to ensure that grantmakers are compared consistently, MCF does not include in the totals in-kind or other non-cash contributions such as products, services or volunteer time, which many corporate grantmakers also give.
2 For 2007, Target Foundation & Corporation only reported combined cash and in-kind contributions and were not ranked.
3 Cargill Foundation & Cargill Incorporated's "Grants/PRIs/Corporate Giving Paid in MN" does not include business unit contributions.
4 United Health Foundation has additional direct charitable distributions in the form of mission-related programs and projects that amount to $6,800,000.
