2008 Community Philanthropy CEO
or Board Chair Retreat
When: May 15-16, 2008
Where: Arrowwood Resort & Conference Center, Alexandria
Cost: $95 (includes meals and meeting expenses; lodging not
included)
Audience: Attendance at this retreat is limited to one
representative per organization, either the CEO of staffed
community/public foundations or the board chair or knowledgeable board
member from non-staffed community/public foundations
Description:
Organized by community and public
foundation members of the Minnesota Council on Foundations, this retreat is our
first formal gathering of the top paid or volunteer leaders of community
philanthropy in our region. We are not only inviting MCF members to attend; we
are also encouraging non-member community/public foundation leaders to attend
so that we have comprehensive representation of our region's leadership.
The meeting will be intimate and collegial. Our goal is to
engage with each other through informal discussions to help you and other community
philanthropy leaders plan your work and increase giving throughout our region
over the coming years.
We will explore such questions as:
- What is community philanthropy, and how is it changing?
- What are our roles in providing community leadership as a strategy
to increase our community impact?
- How do we cooperate and collaborate for better community outcomes?
- How do we grow community philanthropy in the region?
