Central Minnesota Community Foundation Receives
Grant to Grow Minnesota Real Estate Foundation The Central Minnesota Community Foundation (CMCF), St. Cloud, has received a two-year grant from the Surdna Foundation for start-up funds for the Minnesota Real Estate Foundation. The Surdna Foundation, based in New York City, operates a Nonprofit Sector Support Program that seeks to strengthen the effectiveness of nonprofit institutions and to promote increased and improved philanthropy. The $100,000 grant was awarded from this program. The grant will be used for initial seed capital for ongoing planning and growth of the Minnesota Real Estate Foundation, which was established in 2003 and is a supporting organization of the CMCF. The purpose of the Minnesota Real Estate Foundation is to simplify and facilitate the gifting of real estate. It is the only foundation in the state of Minnesota exclusively established to process real estate donations for CMCF or other nonprofit organizations. "We are absolutely delighted that the Surdna Foundation saw the value and the need for services that the Minnesota Real Estate Foundation offers to real estate donors and other nonprofits," said Steve Joul, president of CMCF. "This money will be very beneficial as we continue to move through the critical first few years of this new organization." |
