Jerome Foundation Seeks Media Arts Grant Applications

The Jerome Foundation, St. Paul, welcomes applications for its 2005 Minnesota Media Arts Grant Program. The program awards production grants to individual media artists who are residents of Minnesota.

This program serves film and video artists who work in the genres of experimental, narrative, animation and documentary production. Preference is given to personal work in which the artist exercises complete creative control over all aspects of production, and the foundation considers requests for projects with total budgets of $175,000 or less. Students are not eligible.

Jerome will award approximately $90,000 through the Minnesota Media Arts Grant Program this year, with levels of support ranging from $8,000 to $30,000. Application deadline for the program is June 3, 2005, and grants will be announced in late July.

The foundation will offer two informational workshops for interested grant applicants, to answer questions and assist applicants in the preparation of their proposals. The workshops will be held on April 20 at Intermedia Arts in Minneapolis (612.871.4444); and on May 12 at the Jerome Foundation office in St. Paul (651.224.9431). Both workshops will begin at 7:00 p.m.

For an application checklist and additional information, visit the Jerome Foundation's Web site at www.jeromefdn.org. Or contact Robert Byrd, program officer for the Jerome Foundation, at 651.224.9431, 800.995.3766, rbyrd@jeromefdn.org.
