The Twins Rookie League and Reviving Baseball in the Inner Cities (RBI) youth baseball and softball leagues received grants totaling $139,000. The grants will help pay league expenses and recruitment efforts in Duluth, Minneapolis, Rochester (Minn.), St. Paul and Winnipeg, Manitoba. In total, more than 8,000 youth will participate in Twins Rookie League and RBI programs in 2005.

Other grants awarded include $10,000 to six organizations to support Upper Midwest state and regional youth baseball and softball tournaments, and $500 to expand youth baseball and softball programs in Beluah, North Dakota.
