Otto Bremer Foundation Supports Human Rights, Housing, Anti-Racism Efforts Otto Bremer Foundation, St. Paul, showed its commitment to promoting human rights and creating opportunities for social justice with its recent round of grantmaking. The grants included support for human rights, housing and anti-racism efforts. In the area of human rights, the foundation provided $300,000 to Minnesota Advocates for Human Rights for general operating support over three years. The City of Shoreview Human Rights Commission received a $10,775 grant to publish "Children Who Care," a book designed to educate children about human rights. The foundation also awarded $151,400 over two years to the University of Minnesota Human Rights Program to support a project on protecting human rights in the United States. In the area of housing, the foundation awarded $20,000 to Mental Health Resources for a supportive housing program at Central Avenue Apartments. The foundation also awarded $150,000 to Minnesota Housing Partnership to support housing development and a public education and advocacy campaign over a three-year period. Neighborhood Development Alliance received a $40,000 grant from the foundation to support homebuyer education and post-counseling education services for the Latino community. The foundation also funded anti-racism efforts at the Children's Home Society and Family Services, which received $40,000 for the Public Policy Project, a program that works to undo barriers created by racism. And YouthLink, an organization that serves vulnerable youth, received a $20,000 grant to conduct anti-racism training.
