Arts Board Launches Cultural Community Partnership Grant Program

The Minnesota State Arts Board has launched a new pilot grant program - Cultural Community Partnership - designed to enhance the careers of individual artists of color by supporting their artistic growth and/or drawing visibility to their work.

Through the program, grants will be awarded for collaborative projects between one or more individual artists, or projects in which an individual artist works in partnership with a Minnesota nonprofit organization. To help promote the work of grantees, each recipient will be expected to present some type of public event or exhibition at the end of his or her project, with promotion assistance from the Arts Board.

A total of $100,000 will be awarded through the program this year. Individual grants will range from $1,000 to $5,000.

For more information about the Cultural Community Partnership program or to download an application and instructions, visit the Arts Board's Web site. Applications are due by 4:30 p.m. on Friday, March 19, 2004.

The Arts Board is holding workshops around the state to discuss the Cultural Community Partnership program. At the workshops, an Arts Board program officer will provide more details about the program and answer questions. For the workshop schedule, visit the Arts Board's Web site.
