Applications Sought for Southwest Minnesota Nonprofit Management Institute The Southwest Minnesota Foundation, Hutchinson, welcomes applications from nonprofits in the region for its Nonprofit Management Institute, an intensive 2 1/2 day skill development training. The institute will be held on March 31 through April 2, 2004, at the Willmar Conference Center in Willmar. The institute is open to nonprofit organizations within the 18 counties of southwest Minnesota that have been in existence for five years; have at least two paid, full-time staff members and an active board of directors, and have an annual budget between $150,000 and $750,000. Institute participants will learn about managing in times of change, relating a mission to the marketplace, the seven states of organizational development, principles of effective budgeting and cash flow management, and much more. The institute's trainers are from The LarsonAllen Public Service Group, which has provided financial and management services to nonprofits and foundations throughout the country for over 20 years. The fee to attend the Institute is $100 per organization, which includes meals and overnight lodging for all attendees. Expenses beyond the $100 fee are covered by grants from Southwest Minnesota Foundation and Otto Bremer Foundation, St. Paul.
