Warroad Establishes Flood Recovery Fund

Warroad community leaders have created a new charitable fund to provide financial support for Warroad's immediate and long-term needs in recovering from the floods of 2002. The community established the 2002 Warroad Area Flood Recovery Fund on June 17 at the Northwest Minnesota Foundation in Bemidji.

The 2002 Warroad Area Flood Recovery Fund will serve as a vehicle for individuals and businesses to make charitable contributions for flood recovery efforts, utilizing the community foundation services of Northwest Minnesota Foundation. The fund is a restricted sub-fund of the Warroad Area Community Fund, a new component endowment fund at the foundation.

Donations will help victims of the flood by supporting the rebuilding of the community and providing assistance to residents within the Warroad area where federal and state resources may not be received. Contributions for the 2002 Warroad Area Flood Recovery Fund can be sent to:

2002 Warroad Area Recovery Fund
c/o Security State Bank
PO Box 70
Warroad, MN  56763

Checks can be made payable to "NMF- Warroad Flood Recovery." All donations to the fund are tax-deductible as allowed by law.
