Gift to Foundation Ensures Perpetual Care for Rural Dover Cemetery

A gift to the Rochester Area Foundation will create an endowment fund to provide perpetual care for the support of a rural Dover cemetery.

The estate of Bernelda W. Busian recently created the fund for the Evergreen Cemetery, where Mrs. Busian is buried. Her son, Dr. Michael R. Busian of Morris, Minn., presented the gift to the foundation. The gift to benefit the cemetery was supported by Dr. Busian and his sister, Alice Hidalgo of Rochester.

"Our family is delighted to carry out our mother's wishes and are pleased that the cemetery will be able to proceed with improvements," Dr. Busian said.

"The cemetery association is most grateful for this wonderful support and will be able to proceed with capital improvement projects that have long been on the association's list of needs," cemetery caretaker Jim Hart said. "We are indebted to the Busian family for their commitment to Evergreen Cemetery."

Bernelda Richter Busian was born May 19, 1909, in rural Chatfield. She lived in rural Dover and Chatfield until her death in 2003. In addition to her son and daughter, Mrs. Busian enjoyed her four grandchildren, Adriana and Kristi Hidalgo and Timothy and Laura Busian.
