The Cooperative Foundation Supports Services Valuable
to Cooperatives The Cooperative Foundation, St. Paul, has awarded several grants to organizations providing services to cooperatives. The foundation provided $5,000 to the Cooperative Communicators Association, a national organization of 350 communications professionals who work for cooperatives. The grant will fund the organization’s fellowship program and the scholarship program for college students interested in cooperative communications. Cooperative Development Services, based in Madison, Wis., received a $5,000 grant for a feasibility study which will explore the possibility of farm supply cooperatives providing forestry services to their members and other woodland owners in their service areas. The foundation also awarded $1,000 to the National Cooperative Business Association (NCBA). The grant will support the Policy Forum on Cooperative Development in Washington, D.C. by assisting upper Midwest participants who have limited resources with travel expenses. At the Forum, participants will discuss the future of federal policy supporting cooperative development. |
