Target Makes Red Cross Donation on the "Friends" Set Target Stores presented a $1 million donation to Marsha J. Evans, president and CEO of the American Red Cross, on the set of "Friends" in celebration of the series finale on May 6. Target recently partnered with Warner Home Video to bring fans the "Friends Party Pack," sold exclusively at Target Stores, featuring a DVD of the producers' favorite "Friends" party episodes, a CD sampler, and party favors including a commemorative serving tray, party recipes, coasters, Central Perk House Blend branded coffee, Friends trivia cards and access to special "Friends"-themed EVites online party invitations. "I am very pleased to count Target Stores and Warner Bros. as friends of the American Red Cross," said Evans, "and I am particularly grateful for Target's generous contribution, which will help the Red Cross in fulfilling our very important mission." Red Cross chapters across the country have been celebrating the award-winning series "Friends" through local events and promotions that highlight the lifesaving work of the organization. Target and Warner Home Video donated a quantity of the "Friends Party Packs" and "Friends" Season Six DVDs for chapters in major markets to use to boost fundraising efforts and awareness for the services Red Cross provides to the community. In addition to the contribution to the American Red Cross, Target also made a donation to The Lili Claire Foundation, a nonprofit organization that benefits individuals born with neurogenetic disorders such as Williams Syndrome, Down Syndrome and Autism. "Friends" star Matthew Perry represented The Lili Claire Foundation at the May 6 event. |
