Minnesota Mutual Foundation Gets a New Name The Minnesota Mutual Foundation is now the Securian Foundation. The company announced earlier this year that its corporate identity changed from Minnesota Life to Securian Financial Group. Renaming the foundation is part of the company’s enterprise-wide rebranding effort. Lori Koutsky, foundation manager, says that while the foundation has a new name, its giving policies remain unchanged. The foundation, started in 1988, contributes primarily to nonprofit organizations that promote economic independence, education, human services, special community needs, and the arts. Over the last ten years, Securian Financial Group and the Securian Foundation have donated more than $20 million in cash, volunteer hours, and in-kind gifts and services to nonprofit organizations in the Twin Cities. "Community is one of Securian's fundamental corporate values," said Koutsky. "By investing in our community, we strengthen our reputation as a neighbor of choice, build a better and more attractive community and foster employee loyalty and retention."
