PFund Seeks Nominations for GLBT Community Leader Award

The Philanthrofund Foundation, Minneapolis, welcomes nominations for the PFund Power of One Award, an annual award given to an individual who reflects the heart of PFund's mission of celebrating and strengthening gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender (GLBT) communities.

Formerly known as the Community Service Award, The PFund Power of One Award celebrates individuals who have devoted themselves to strengthening the community in which they live, with a strong knowledge of the GLBT community and a commitment to serving as an effective leader or dedicated volunteer. The award includes a $1,000 donation from PFund to the nonprofit organization of the award recipient's choice.

To nominate an individual for the award, provide PFund with a written statement, not exceeding two pages, which tells why you believe your nominee should receive the PFund Power of One Award. The statement should particularly stress the individual's involvement in his or her community, noting volunteer efforts, GLBT leadership accomplishments and past involvement in GLBT-related issues. Nominations can be submitted via e-mail to info@PFundOnline.org.

Nominations are due by October 15, 2004. For more information on the award and how to nominate someone, visit PFund's Web site.
