AgStar Fund for Rural America Donates To
Local Fire Department

AgStar Fund for Rural America, Mankato, awarded a $6,500 grant to the Cleveland, Minn. Fire & Rescue Department to purchase hand-held radios for the firefighters' emergency communication system.

"The AgStar Fund searches for organizations that provide an essential service to farmers and rural areas," said Jody Bloemke, fund administrator. "Nothing could be more vital to the future of rural communities than protecting the lives and properties of the people who live there."

Applications considered for funding and support must align with the fund's mission to enhance the quality of life and future opportunities for rural residents and their communities and focus on one of the four key areas of support: education, technology, environment and quality of life.
