Bernick's Creates Fund at
Central Minnesota Community Foundation
Sept. 2, 2008
The Central Minnesota Community Foundation and Bernick’s Beverages and Vending Inc. will partner to award community grants through a newly created corporate fund. CMCF will provide grantmaking services to Bernick’s for the company’s six markets: Brainerd, Bemidji, Duluth, St. Cloud and Willmar, Minn., and Dresser, Wis.
Bernick’s is a fourth-generation family-owned distributor of beverage, food and vending services. The Waite Park-based company has a long tradition of investing in its local communities to improve quality of life. Bernick’s continues as a longtime philanthropic leader through financial and in-kind donations to multiple causes each year.
The Bernick’s Beverages and Vending Fund will support three key focus areas: youth, education, and health and fitness. Funding may go toward capital, strategic investments in operations, and programmatic support.
The grant application process will begin immediately. The fund will award grants to qualifying organizations that are based in at least one of the six markets Bernick’s serves. The deadline for receiving Letters of Inquiry is Sept. 15, 2008.
Organizations applying for a grant must be nonprofits, schools, government entities, or charitable organizations designated as 501(c) (3) by the IRS. Multi-year requests will be considered. Learn more about the application process at www.CommunityGiving.org.
