Cargill Supports FFA's LifeKnowledge Initiative

Cargill has committed $500,000 to become a founding partner for the National FFA Foundation's LifeKnowledge Center for Agricultural Education. Funds will be used to help extend, enhance and support the LifeKnowledge series of integrated youth development lessons created by the FFA (formerly known as the Future Farmers of America).

"Cargill is proud to be a founding partner of LifeKnowledge," said Jerry Rose, Cargill's corporate vice president. "We see LifeKnowledge as a unique vehicle to bring training and tools to equip our youth with the leadership skills that are necessary for the future: critical thinking, creativity and a sense of strong ethics."

The contribution will be used to develop additional instructional and assessment tools, provide professional development for teachers and help expand the reach of the program with online delivery to all agriculture education programs throughout the United States.

LifeKnowledge is a comprehensive approach to leadership training created by the National FFA Organization to make a positive difference in the lives of all students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career sccess through agricultural education. The center will focus on providing leadership skills to more than eight million agriculture students during the next decade.
