Five MCF Members Among Business Ethics' Top 50 Corporate Citizens

Five MCF members were named among the top 50 companies in Business Ethics magazine's 2006 list of 100 Best Corporate Citizens.

General Mills led the way at No. 14; in 2003, General Mills earned the top spot in the ranking. Wells Fargo & Company was close behind at No. 16, while St. Paul Travelers Companies (19) and Ecolab (20) also finished among the top 20. 3M Company regained a spot in the list this year at No. 43.

St. Paul Travelers and Ecolab are among only 16 companies that have each been named to the list in all seven years.

Published in the magazine's Spring 2006 issue, the list is compiled annually using a database created by KLD Research & Analytics to rank U.S. firms in the Russell 1000, S&P 500, and Domini 400 Social Index. The eight categories used are shareholders, community, governance, diversity, employees, environment, human rights and product.
