Grotto Foundation Sets Strategy,
Changes Grant Guidelines

May 12, 2008

The Grotto Foundation will no longer accept or review applications or proposals for general grants.

The foundation's board and staff will spend the next five months establishing the specifics of a five-year focused funding program, and will announce the details in late October or early November. When the initiative is implemented, Grotto will consider only grant proposals from programs or organizations that have been specifically invited by Grotto to submit a proposal.

The foundation will retain its commitment to the Native Language Revitalization Initiative as well as continue collaborative efforts for the benefit of the American Indian Family Empowerment Program (AIFEP) and the American Indian Leadership in Philanthropy Program.
