Initiative Foundation Grants, Training For Nonprofits Fighting Poverty
April 28, 2008
Central Minnesota faith-based and community-based organizations can strengthen their internal operations in the fight against poverty and/or meet other critical issues, thanks to $75,000 in grants and training available through a new partnership among the Greater Minneapolis Council of Churches (GMCC), the Initiative Foundation, Fairview Health Services and Minnesota Council of Churches.
The Compassion Capital Fund Project is funded by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
Faith-based and community-based organizations and worshipping communities that serve low income people and/or meet vital human needs are invited to apply for a grant. Grants, covering a period of one year, will help nonprofits with planning, consultation, technical assistance, nonprofit management training, and implementation of new technology.
To learn about this new program and obtain application information, organization leaders should plan to attend an informational sessions scheduled from 1:30 to 4 p.m. or 6:30 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, May 8 at The Kelly Inn in St. Cloud. To register, contact Tricia Holig at tholig@ifound.org or 877.632.9255 by May 6.
