"We are delighted to support the arts and culture organizations that are such a vital part of the communities in which we live and work," said Andrew Duff, chairman and chief executive officer of Piper Jaffray Companies. "We feel it is important to support these cultural organizations that give youth access to the arts." The foundation awarded grants to arts and cultural organizations that are accessible and partner with schools on a regular basis. Other characteristics included whether the organizations offer discount programs and have affordable programming targeted to non-traditional audiences. The organizations selected are collaborative and have programs that feature artists of diverse heritage and use their art to educate about racial and cultural issues. A complete list of the grant recipients can be found on Piper Jaffray's Web site. |
