The Shakopee-based St. Francis Foundation, which supports St. Francis Regional Medical Center, awarded three grants showing the foundation's commitment to positively impact community health.

"St. Francis and its community partners are committed to improving the lives of the uninsured, under-insured and vulnerable members of our communities," said Tamara Severtson, St. Francis Regional Medical Center's outreach ministry coordinator.

St. Mary's Health Clinic was awarded $12,000 to provide health care services to low-income, uninsured persons at its Shakopee Valley Clinic. The River Valley Nursing Center in Shakopee was awarded $10,000 for program development. Shakopee Crime Prevention received $500 toward the purchase of Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) to be placed in Shakopee police cars.
