Southwest Minnesota Foundation Supports Youth, Technology With Latest Grants

The Southwest Minnesota Foundation, Hutchinson, awarded grants to support early childhood and economic advancement in July and August.

The foundation awarded $10,000 to advance the Minnesota Early Childhood Initiative for facilitation and outreach efforts in southwest Minnesota and $10,000 for the convening of regional early childhood coalition coordinators and promotional materials.

The SWMF awarded $4,800 to Helping Hand Pregnancy in Worthington, $4,000 to Kandiyohi County ARC, and $5,000 to the Sexual Violence and Abuse Crisis Center in Willmar to update technology equipment and software.

Other highlights:

  • $1,000 to co-sponsor a statewide conference to increase public awareness around methamphetamine use.

  • $4,990 to Habitat for Humanity of Lyon County for board development and marketing strategy

  • $3,000 to Nobles County Integration Collaborative in Worthington to convene people of all ages to discuss and explore ways to embrace diversity and integration of cultures

  • $1,000 to the American Red Cross of Lyon County to support board development and strategic planning
