Target Celebrates Black History Month by Dreaming in Color

Target is celebrating Black History Month by encouraging everyone to dream their biggest dreams in color, outside the confines of black and white. Target is recognizing the innovators who inspire others to follow their dreams by offering guests educational tools and information about African-American influencers at target.com/blackhistory. The website features a learning center, historical timeline and teacher's corner, which includes curriculum guides on the Montgomery Bus Boycott.

"Creativity flourishes best when there are no boundaries or restrictions," said Laysha Ward, Target's vice president of community relations. "Our support of Black History Month and the 'Dream in Color' message is meant to inspire everyone to reach their full potential."

Target has also released a gospel compilation CD featuring music greats such as Kirk Franklin, Tonex, Yolanda Adams and CeCe Winans. Two dollars from the purchase of the $5.99 CD, available at Target stores and at Target.com, will be donated to the United Negro College Fund.
