Upcoming NBA Season

Aug. 18, 2008

The Minnesota Timberwolves FastBreak Foundation will accept applications from nonprofit organizations for grants for the upcoming 2008-09 NBA season through Sept. 15, 2008.

Each month during the season, the foundation will focus on a specific area of giving. The month will feature events, programs and a $10,000 grant to an organization that best fits the theme and fulfills the foundation's mission. In a new addition to the process, winning and runner-up organizations will receive tickets for a Wolves game, a booth to market their organizations, and a public address announcement at the game.

Monthly themes:
  • October - New Season, New Beginnings: Organizations that offer youth a new direction or opportunity.

  • November - Operation Minnesota Heroes: Organizations that support Minnesota military troops and their families.

  • December - Season of Giving: Organizations that serve families in need during the holiday season.

  • January - WolvesCare: Organizations that focus efforts on supporting children fighting life-threatening illnesses.

  • February - Black History Month: Organizations that focus efforts on supporting and promoting African-American history and leadership skills.

  • March - Read to Achieve: Organizations that focus on literacy and encourage a lifelong love of reading.
