Women's Foundation To Invest $30,000 in Grants in Northwest Minnesota
Aug. 4, 2008
The Women’s Foundation of Minnesota will award a minimum of $30,000 in grants to communities in Northwest Minnesota this year in order to increase its investment in that region of the state. The foundation is seeking proposals from nonprofit groups, programs and projects that serve women and girls; the proposals must focus on either creating economic justice for women and girls or advancing women’s safety and security. The average grant will be between $5,000 and $20,000 and last for one year.
“As a statewide community foundation, we strive to partner with organizations from every county in Minnesota to grow equality and opportunities for women and girls in their own communities,” said Lee Roper-Batker, foundation president and CEO. “We are truly excited for the opportunity to partner with nonprofits in these 12 counties to create pathways for women and girls and families to thrive economically, and to help make these communities a safer place for its women and girls.”
Eligible applicants must be located in one or more of the following 12 counties: Beltrami, Clearwater, Hubbard, Kittson, Lake of the Woods, Mahnomen, Marshall, Norman, Pennington, Polk, Red Lake, and Roseau.
