Bachelor’s degree is required; an appropriate advanced graduate or professional degree is desirable

A minimum of ten years management experience in a mission driven organization with a scope and complexity that is relevant to the Headwaters Foundation for Justice

Current and in-depth knowledge of community foundation work and the ability to transfer that knowledge into effective strategic performance outcomes, either directly or through the management team at all levels in the organization

An entrepreneurial executive who is accustomed to plowing new ground and developing creative approaches within the context of a mission-driven organization with a well defined strategy

Demonstrated ability to personally engage, sustain, and retain relationships that advance the Headwaters Foundation for Justice vision, mission, and values among all income and ethnic groups

Demonstrated abilities to mentor, coach, and elicit similar relationship management results from those who hold key positions within the organization

Development and marketing experience with a highly visible organization where major gifts were personally solicited

Success in asking for and obtaining large contributions, either as a volunteer fundraiser or as an executive

An executive who is accustomed to leading through influence and persuasion; excellent interpersonal and communication skills

A person who has successfully experienced reporting to and leveraging a board of directors; demonstrated ability and proven record of organizing and facilitating board members, staff, and volunteer successes in major, complex development initiatives and partnerships

Demonstrated knowledge, skills, and ability of current technology and related computer programs including but not limited to Microsoft Office 2007
