M&A Executive Search is a retained search firm doing a search for a nonprofit organization that is looking for an executive director. They are a non-partisan, policy research organization based in rural Minnesota dedicated to benefiting rural Minnesota by providing Minnesota policy makers with an unbiased evaluation of issues from a rural perspective.

The executive director is responsible for everything from getting their message to policy makers, following the strategic plan, overseeing staff, acting as a public spokesperson for the organization, and developing and maintaining strong working relationships with key public and private policy makers. Additional responsibilities include general operations and financial management, fundraising, working closely with the board of directors, and hiring and working with researchers. This position could be located anywhere in Minnesota, so individual must be willing to travel throughout the state.

Requirements:

10+ years of progressive management experience
An undergraduate degree
Must have leadership experience in rural issues, especially those confronting greater Minnesota
Strong relationships with policy makers
Fundraising abilities
Strong management skills
Experience managing staff members and program development
