DIRECTOR OF STEWARDSHIP

Responsibilities:
The Director of Stewardship is responsible for obtaining leadership commitments at the $25,000+ level from individuals and related foundations. The Director will build a portfolio and manage the identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of approximately 150-200 prospects. As a development officer, plays a significant role in developing strategies for and ensuring the success of the overall fundraising program.

Qualifications:

Commitment to the mission and values of a Lutheran University.
Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree desirable. Strong preference given to graduates of the Concordia University system.
Minimum of 2 years successful fundraising experience. Related experience in education, sales, marketing and other fields accepted.
Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
Good organizational skills with facility for managing many projects simultaneously. Ability to work independently within established guidelines and to meet frequent deadlines.
Ability and willingness to travel extensively (approximately 120 days annually), including occasional weekend travel.
Understanding of, and appreciation for, Concordia’s mission and capacity to project that mission to donors and prospects
