DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR
Epilepsy Foundation of Minnesota

Classification: Full time, exempt salary position
Supervision: Reports to the Executive Director, Directly supervises one part time development staff person of the foundation


Our mission:
The Epilepsy Foundation of Minnesota will ensure that people with seizures are able to participate in all life experiences; and will work to prevent, control, and cure epilepsy through services, educating, advocacy, and research. There are over 60,000 Minnesotans who have seizures. Currently 50 staff throughout Minnesota with a program budget of $1.3 million and a full budget of $3.5 million. Learn more at www.efmn.org.


Position purpose:
The Director performs a leadership role as the senior administrator responsible for driving all development activities of the foundation and provides the oversight of the annual “Light up the Night” benefit. This position has the responsibility to increase the current development dollars and to identify and implement systems, polices, and processes to support more aggressive and diverse fundraising efforts. As a highly skilled and experienced professional, the Director will be responsible for planning, organizing, influencing, and evaluating the entire fund raising/resource development program including the annual gala. This position serves on the management team and represents the foundation when needed. Responsibilities also include attaining the targeted fundraising goals and outcomes established and approved by the EFM Board of Directors.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree (master’s preferred) from an accredited college or university in management or related field
  • Minimum 10 years of successful direct fund raising management experience
  • Outgoing, creative thinking individual
  • Excellent communication and writing skills, presentation and public speaking skills
  • Excellent organization skills
  • Demonstrated strategic planning and implementation skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work with and through volunteers
  • Ability to manage a multitude tasks and deadlines
  • Demonstrated senior level fundraising experience with advanced knowledge of best practices in all aspects of a development department

Salary range: $70,000 to $80,000.
