ANNUAL GIFTS OFFICER

Hearthstone of Minnesota provides a therapeutic home environment which helps youth with significant emotional and behavioral challenges become effective contributing adults. The Annual Gifts Officer has lead responsibility in cultivating and securing individual and major gifts to augment government revenues in support of general program operations. This position is new and offers an ideal opportunity for the right individual committed to helping Hearthstone build a better world one kid at a time through the achievement of a successful annual giving program.

Responsibilities:
The Annual Gifts Officer is responsible for the planning, development, and implementation of Hearthstone's annual giving program in support of Hearthstone's mission and program operations. Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

Design a comprehensive strategic plan for annual giving and individual/major gifts which addresses the short-term and long-term development needs of the organization
Provide leadership and direction in the planning and execution of agency fundraising efforts, including the identification, cultivation, and solicitation of individual donors for annual, major, and endowment gifts; cultivation, direction, and support of board members, volunteers, and Hearthstone executive staff in fundraising efforts
Develop marketing/communication materials related to annual fund development; assist in the cultivation of public relations/media contacts, draft and distribute press releases, and maintain Hearthstone's website
Plan, coordinate, and implement agency special events, major gift campaigns, direct mail campaigns, and online contributions

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent experience and training in nonprofit fundraising with a focus on annual fund development and individual/major gifts
Demonstrated success in sales/marketing and fundraising, with a specific focus on annual giving and individual donor development
Demonstrated ability to cultivate and secure significant individual gifts within the Minneapolis-Saint Paul donor community
Excellent written/oral communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to craft Hearthstone's message to varied audiences
