CONSULTING ASSOCIATE

Fieldstone Alliance is currently seeking a Consulting Associate to assist Fieldstone Alliance consultants with design and delivery of capacity building projects. The Consulting Associate will conduct research, help with project management, and assist in various aspects of consulting service delivery. General responsibilities include:
- Provide project assistance, including Internet research and analysis on organizational and financial topics; conducting interviews and surveys; analyzing and summarizing data; preparing proposals, presentations, and reports; planning and assisting with focus groups; and planning and coordinating national training services.
- Provide administrative support, including arranging meetings; coordinating communications to staff, affiliated consultants, client organizations, and resource people around the country; maintaining a project tracking database; monitoring project budgets and workplans; and reporting information from meetings and teleconferences.
- Assist with development and oversight of systems to support consulting services, including evaluation, communications, technology, database, and billing to ensure seamless and effective execution of our work.
The Consulting Associate will carry out these responsibilities in a fast-paced, creative, and diverse environment that requires exceptional collaboration and communications with staff, affiliated consultants, client organizations, and a wide variety of national leaders and organizations.
Qualifications:
Candidates should combine as many as possible of the following characteristics:
- Three to five years of previous work experience in project management, research, community or organization development, nonprofit management, or a related field.
- Demonstrated project management skills on complex projects: ability to quickly gather and synthesize needed information; handle complex and challenging issues and competing priorities; and track detailed information.
- Demonstrated research skills related to nonprofit management and finance, including both qualitative and quantitative analysis, and prior experience in both identifying data sources and applying those sources.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with staff, clients, and leaders from throughout the nonprofit sector.
- Ability to work effectively across age, gender, sexual orientation and cultural groups.
- Demonstrated ability to write and produce high quality professional reports and presentation materials.
Familiarity with the challenges facing nonprofit organizations, including those related to nonprofit finance, capacity building approaches, and resources that address them.
- Advanced competency on computers, including web-based research, spreadsheets, databases, word processing, and PowerPoint.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g. nonprofit management, public policy, business, research) is required; advanced degree is preferred.
- Multilingual ability (Spanish/English) is a plus but not required.
Salary and benefits:
Low 40s, commensurate with background and experience, including a competitive benefits package.
