COMMUNITY IMPACT PROGRAM MANAGER - BASIC NEEDS Greater Twin Cities United Way Posted Sept. 11, 2008 Greater Twin Cities United Way unites caring people in building stronger communities by inspiring people to help others, increasing resources to meet needs and fostering innovative solutions to problems. This position will play an instrumental role in reaching our Agenda for Lasting Change, which focuses on 10 goals in three key areas, the building blocks for a good life. This position will focus on Basic Needs, specifically partnering and convening job-training programs, government and the private sector to enhance and support coordination, efficiency and innovation in workforce development. This position will work with the Basic Needs team to ensure measurable results against the goal of improving the financial stability of 40,000 individuals by 2010. The Basic Needs areas is also charged with reducing hunger in our area 20 percent by 2009 and in partnership with the governor’s initiative to end long-term homelessness in the Twin Cities by 2010. Description: The primary purpose of this position is to provide leadership and program management on the Community Agenda for Lasting Change. This position will build expertise and create a depth of knowledge about workforce development and the human service systems in the Basic Needs Impact area. This position entails being a community leader, and building relationships with a variety of community stakeholders to assess the most pressing issues in our service areas. This position will also be responsible for grant development and management for programs and initiatives. Qualifications:
