CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER Girl Scouts of Wisconsin - Badgerland, Inc. Posted Sept. 17, 2008 Serving Girls in South-Central and Southwestern Wisconsin Beloit - Janesville - La Crosse - Madison Goals: The historic merger of four councils serving South-Central and Southwestern Wisconsin will occur June 1, 2009. This newly formed council will be a recognized national leader, providing more girls than ever before with world-class leadership development training and experience. This presents a unique opportunity for a dynamic, energetic and skilled executive to lead the integration process and build on the successes of the councils currently serving girls in this region. The CEO is accountable for providing leadership, strategic direction and vision. Working in partnership with the council’s board of directors and the senior management team, the CEO will shape the council’s business strategy and its implementation. The CEO advises, recommends and assists the council board of directors in the formulation of policies governing the council and implements the policies and directives of the board. The CEO works collaboratively with members of the management team to direct the council’s day-to-day operations. Day travel of up to 50% is expected, with occasional overnight travel required. This position is to be filled in January 2009. Two of the primary responsibilities of the CEO will be to raise funds and to develop relationships within the communities that will become part of the new council. Statistics: 16,300+ girl and 4,900+ dedicated adult members. The council’s jurisdiction includes 21 counties in Wisconsin within the area encompassed by the following counties: Pepin, Buffalo, Trempealeau, Jackson, Juneau, Columbia, Dodge, Jefferson and Walworth. Major cities in this jurisdiction include Beloit, Janesville, La Crosse and Madison. The other boundaries for the council are the Illinois state line and the Mississippi River. The council will also serve small contiguous areas in Illinois, Iowa and Minnesota. This represents a mix of urban and rural communities with high and low population densities. The new council’s budget is expected to be approximately $4.56 million. The council operates 10 facilities including offices, service centers, shops, camps and related properties. Combined councils’ staff presently consists of 70 full and part-time employees, plus seasonal staff. Girl Scouting is the world’s preeminent membership organization of girls and women.
