The vision of Wallin Education Partners is to work toward achieving the goal
that all deserving students with financial need in Minnesota receive
scholarships, advising, and personal support to help guarantee college
graduation. A unique aspect of the program is that professional advisors work
with scholars to ensure their success in college. In addition, Wallin Education
Partners draws on their long-standing relationships with public high schools,
colleges and universities to make sure that the scholarship recipients graduate
from college in a timely fashion.
SALARY:
Range of $60,000-$75,000 based
on experience

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

It is the
responsibility of the Director of Scholar Services to oversee and manage the
advising program and to build and improve our relationships with the
colleges and universities our students attend. The purpose of the advising
program is to increase the probability of timely graduation for the scholars
as well as to ensure an optimal college experience.

The Director of Scholar Services manages our
team of six professional advisors and assures the effectiveness of our
advising program, which tracks and supports students and provides them with
academic, personal, and financial advice from the time of their selection as
“Scholars” through their graduation from a four year college.

The Director of Scholar Services is also
responsible to build and improve relationships with our college partner
campuses so we can work collaboratively to ensure adequate student support
and to maximize the success of our scholars.

Scholar Services staff also supports the scholar
selection process and donor management as required.
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS
-
5+ years personally working with students who are pursuing 4 year college
degrees. Experience is required in one or more of the following areas;
academic advising, student retention, student services, multicultural
services, and/or financial aid. Experience with students from a wide
variety of backgrounds including under represented students through high
performing students is desirable.

3+ years of management experience, with organizational responsibility for
people and programs.

Demonstrated passion for the mission of Wallin Education Partners, through
work and volunteer efforts.

Bachelor’s
degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
