Fargo-Moorhead Area Foundation announced staff changes:
-
Karla Aaland, executive
director, resigned to pursue a career in the private sector as a financial
planner.
-
Mike Hannaher was named interim executive
director. Hannaher has served as the foundation's director of development for
two years. He previously practiced law in Moorhead for nearly 32 years and
served nine years on the board of the United Way of Cass-Clay and eight years on
the foundation's board of governors.

Jessica Clark
was named office assistant and receptionist. She recently completed an
internship with the office of U.S. Senator Kent Conrad.

Wendy DeLane Johnson,
gifts and grants specialist, will leave the foundation at the end of May to join
her husband in Connecticut, where he is stationed with the Navy.

Adolfo Avila was named micro-enterprise
program specialist for Southwest Initiative Foundation. Avila has worked with
the program as a contracted consultant to the foundation's Hispanic business
clients since 2003. He has also consulted with the Small Business Development
Center of Marshall and worked for the Marshall Area Cultural Diversity Office.
He has also owned an interpreter service. |

WomenVenture announced its annual awards:
-
Sandra Vargas, president and CEO of The Minneapolis Foundation,
received the Pioneer Award.

Susan Cornell Wilkes, who has worked with several foundations and
nonprofits, received the Unsung Hero Award.
