Minnesota Council On Foundations Elects New Board Members, Officers

The Minnesota Council on Foundations, a membership organization that works actively to strengthen and expand philanthropy, elected Holly Sampson, president of Duluth-Superior Area Community Foundation, as board chair for 2007. Other officers and new directors also were elected at a recent annual meeting of members.
Karen Kelley-Ariwoola, interim CEO and president and vice president-community philanthropy of The Minneapolis Foundation, was elected vice chair. John Larsen, trustee of the John Larsen Foundation, was elected secretary, and Richard Scott, vice president-compliance and finance of The McKnight Foundation, will continue as treasurer.
New directors are Bill Linder-Scholer, executive director, ADC Foundation and Corporate Giving Program; Karen Rauenhorst, trustee and vice president, Karen and Mark Rauenhorst Family Foundation; Sherry Ristau, president, Southwest Initiative Foundation; Carolyn Roby, vice president, Wells Fargo Foundation Minnesota; Kris Taylor, vice president, Ecolab Foundation; and George Thompson, trustee and board chair, Blandin Foundation. Karl Stauber, president, Northwest Area Foundation, will serve a one-year term as past board chair.
Founded in 1969, the Minnesota Council on Foundations serves the Minnesota community of grantmakers. The council is a regional membership association working to improve the vitality and health of Minnesota communities. Council members include family and private foundations, community and other public foundations, and corporate foundations and giving programs.
