- ADC Foundation & Corporation 1. $50,000 from ADC Foundation to The September 11th Fund (full story).
- American Express $1 million to establish the American Express World Trade Center Disaster Relief Fund (full story).
- Best Buy Co., Inc.  1. $100,000 to the American Red Cross.
2. $35,000 to seven local Red Cross chapters, given in conjunction with seven new store grand openings on Sept. 14.
3. Raised $1.2 million
for the American Red Cross through a customer donation program conducted in every Best Buy, Sam Goody, On-Cue, Media Play and Suncoast store through Nov. 3, 2001.

$1 million from the sale of NSYNC bobblehead dolls is earmarked for nonprofit organizations serving youth (K-12 grade) in the New York tri-state metro area that have been affected by the events of September 11th. This contributions program is being administered by the Best Buy Children's Foundation.
- F.R. Bigelow Foundation $10,000 to the September 11th Fund of The Saint Paul Foundation.
- Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota $30,000 as part of a nationwide Blue Cross and Blue Shield effort to contribute $1 million to support the American Red Cross in providing disaster relief (full story).
- Otto Bremer Foundation $200,000 to The September 11th Fund.
- Bremer Financial Corporation $100,000 to The September 11th Fund.
- Brooks Family Donor-Advised Funds at The Minneapolis Foundation $2,000 to American Red Cross.
- Bush Foundation $25,000 to The September 11th Fund
- Patrick and Aimee Butler Family Foundation $20,000 to American Red Cross, St. Paul Chapter, to support activities related to Sept. 11th terrorist attacks.
- Buuck Family Foundation $2,500 to The September 11th Fund.
- Cargill Foundation & Corporation $100,000 to the American Red Cross. Several business units also made donations to organizations such as the American Red Cross, The September 11th Fund, Families of Freedom Scholarship Fund, Cantor Fitzgerald Fund and the Salvation Army to be matched by Cargill's corporate contributions.
- Deluxe Corporation Foundation $50,000 to the American Red Cross (full story).

- ING Foundation & Corporation $50,000 to The September 11th Fund. Also plan to provide a cash donation to the New York City Public/Private Initiatives, Inc. (full story).
- Jerome Foundation

1. $43,000 to the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council, which was located in the World Trade Center, to relaunch the World Views Artist Residency Program. The grant will help artists who lost their studio space in the WTC to buy supplies and get back to work in new space. More than $34,000 will go directly to the individual artists in the program and $8,000 is earmarked for disaster relief (full story).
2. $10,000 to 3-Legged Dog, an experimental theater company that lost its entire office, which was located in a building near the World Trade Center.

- Lutheran Brotherhood and Aid Association for Lutherans $5.6 million to help those affected by the attack on America, through supplemental funds from LB and AAL and fund-raising activities by the organizations’ national network of volunteer groups. More than 1,000 AAL branches have raised an estimated $3.0 million and AAL has released $1 million to supplement those funds. LB is matching all contributions made to Lutheran Disaster Response (LDR) up to $650,000, and its volunteer branches have generated $1 million in additional support.
- Medtronic Foundation & Corporation 1. $500,000 to assist families of New York City firefighters, police and EMS personnel who were affected by the tragedy.

- The Minneapolis Foundation 1. $10,000 to The September 11th Fund at the foundation (full story).
2. To date, the foundation has received $308,070 in contributions for its September 11th Fund of which $200,000 has been contributed to
The September 11th Fund and $20,000 has been contributed to the University of Minnesota to cover travel expenses for its grief counselors.

- RBC Dain Rauscher Foundation & Corporation 1. $25,000 to American Red Cross for disaster relief efforts.
2. $1 million from RBC Financial Group, Dain Rauscher's parent company, to The September 11th Fund (full story).
- The St. Paul Companies, Inc. Foundation $50,000 to The September 11th Fund.
- The Saint Paul Foundation 1. $25,000 to The September 11th Fund at the foundation (full story).
2. To date, the foundation has raised $485,266 for the fund, which represents the largest grant made by a community foundation nationwide.
- Southwest Minnesota Foundation $2,500 to The September 11th Fund.
- SUPERVALU Foundation & Corporation $25,000 to American Red Cross National Disaster Relief Fund.
- Target Corporation $600,000 to American Red Cross disaster funds for aid to victims in New York, D.C. and Pennsylvania.
- TCF Foundation & Corporation $100,000 to New York Police and Fire Widows' Benefit Fund.

- West Central Initiative $20,000 to The September 11th Fund. WCI's component funds raise $10,000, which the WCI board of directors matched with an additional $10,000.

Employee Gifts
Companies matching their employees' gifts to relief efforts & other employee contributions efforts.
Total employee gifts & employer matches reported to date: $361,104.

- ADC Foundation & Corporation $30,000 from ADC employees to various groups, with  $30,000 company match of employee gifts. (full story). 
- American Express Will match contributions made by American Express employees, advisors and retirees to the "The American Express World Trade Center Disaster Relief Fund" (full story).
- Cargill Foundation & Corporation Will match individual employee contributions to the American Red Cross through the company's Disaster Relief Program. Employees also conducted fundraising drives, sold t-shirts, and used funds for holiday parties and staff events for relief efforts.
- CHS Cooperatives Foundation

Contributed $25,000 to the The September 11th Fund, which represented contributions from employees and member cooperatives, along with a match from the foundation (full story).

- Deluxe Corporation Foundation Will match employees' gifts to The September 11th Fund, up to $50,000 total (full story). 
- Imation Corporation Will provide a dollar-for-dollar match of U.S. employee contributions (made through Oct. 31) to The September 11th Fund or The American Red Cross, up to $500 per employee or $50,000 total.
- ING Foundation & Corporation Will match all U.S. employees' personal donations to the American Red Cross. 
- Land O'Lakes, Inc.

Will match donations by employees and farmer-members, up to $50,000 total, to American Red Cross and United Way's Sept. 11th Fund.  

- McNeely Foundation Provided a one-for-one match of  employees' donations of $14,583, for total donations of $29,166.
- Metris Companies Foundation "The Metris September 11 Fund" was created to benefit The American Red Cross and New York City Public/Private Initiatives, Inc. (NYCPPI) aiding the families of police, fire, emergency medical technicians and other New York City employees involved in rescue efforts. Employees contributed $31,669 to the fund, which was matched with $31,669 from Metris for a total of $63,338.
- Omaha Community Foundation Employees have contributed $450 to the foundation's September 11 Fund.
- Pillsbury Company Foundation Set up a "Doughboy 911 Fund" to which Pillsbury employees in North America can donate for relief efforts. The campaign will run Sept. 19 - Oct. 31, and The Pillsbury Company Foundation will match the contributions dollar for dollar. An employee committee has been formed to determine the best fit for the contributions, with an emphasis on organizations channeling funds to the victims and families of those touched by the tragedy. 
- RBC Dain Rauscher Foundation & Corporation Matched employee gifts to The September 11th Fund, the American Red Cross and other related disaster relief agencies immediately following the tragedy through Oct. 17. Employee gifts totaling approximately $47,000 were matched by Dain for total donations of more than $76,000. 
- Red Wing Shoe Company Foundation To date employees have donated $3,546 to relief efforts, which the company has matched dollar-for-dollar ($7,092 total).
- The St. Paul Companies, Inc. Foundation Will provide a one-for-one match of employee gifts made through Oct. 15. To date, employees have donated $107,649, to be matched with $103,659 from company for a total of $211,308.
- The Saint Paul Foundation Will provide a dollar-for-dollar match of employee contributions, up to $1,500 per year. To date employees have donated $375 to relief efforts ($750 total).
- Star Tribune Foundation Will match gifts from employees to the Red Cross fund for disaster relief in New York.
- Tapemark Corporation Will provide a dollar-for-dollar match of employee contributions (made through Dec. 1) to relief efforts for victims of the Sept. 11 tragedy, up to $250 per employee or $25,000 for the company. There is no min. contribution to get the match and the contributions will not count toward Tapemark's regular employee gift-matching matching program.
- Tennant Company & Tennant Foundation Tennant Company has set up the Tennant Relief Fund. The Tennant Foundation will be matching employees' gifts to the Fund.

In-Kind Donations

Local companies' donations of products, services & other non-cash items.
Value of In-Kind Contributions Reported To Date: $1,778,520

- Best Buy Co., Inc. 

1. Equipment for Red Cross Respite Centers, including computers, televisions, game stations, CD players, cameras and movies. Est. value: $30,000.
2. Stores in New York City contributed family radios to help with urgent communication needs for rescue workers, police, firemen and volunteers.
3. 85 Compaq laptop computers for two New York City schools to assist teachers who lost their equipment in the collapse of the World Trade Center. Est. value: $128,520.
4. Televisions to New York City YMCA.

- Cargill Foundation & Corporation

Made product donations such as cooked meat, flour and instant soup to help feed rescue workers in New York City.

- General Mills Foundation & Corporation $100,000 in food to emergency and disaster relief workers (full story).
- ING Foundation & Corporation Donated the company's scheduled national advertising airtime on network and cable television for several days to the Red Cross to help the organization make public service announcements. The 30-second time slots, which would have launched the company's fall advertising campaign, are valued at more than $750,000 (full story).
- Medtronic Foundation & Corporation Donated Medtronic's LIFEPAK 500 automated external defibrillators (AEDs), LIFEPAK defibrillator/monitors, battery support systems and electrodes for emergency monitoring and life support. Est. value: $650,000 minimum (full story).
- Pillsbury Company Has made the company's corporate plane available to transport blood and medical personnel. 
- SUPERVALU Foundation & Corporation Offer of retail locations for blood collection sites, in-kind gifts of products such as juice and cookies for Red Cross blood collection sites, and other products as needed.
- Target Corporation 1. Donated various merchandise for American Red Cross and Salvation Army.
2. Supported American Red Cross in promoting 1-800-HELP-NOW phone line and local blood drive locations.
- The Toro Company Donated 5 Toro Workman Utility Vehicles to the City of New York and 3 Toro Workman Utility Vehicles to the Pentagon for relief and recovery efforts (total est. value: $120,000).

Volunteer Efforts

Employee volunteer efforts organized by local companies.

- ADC Foundation & Corporation ADC in the Twin Cities held blood drives for employees at its world headquarters (full story), with more than 150 donors.
- Best Buy Co., Inc.  Conducting blood drives at Best Buy stores and related facilities nationwide, including a drive at the Minnesota corporate headquarters on Oct. 19.
- Bremer Financial Corporation Gave Bremer's  1,800 employees paid time off to donate blood or volunteer.
- Dain Rauscher Foundation & Corporation Conducting blood drive for Memorial Blood Center on Sept. 25.
- ING Foundation & Corporation More than 20 ING locations have coordinated on-site blood drives. Also, ING AFS employees conducted an on-site medical and supply drive, raising more than a truckload of supplies for the Salvation Army that will travel to emergency workers in the New York area (full story).
- Land O'Lakes Encouraging blood donation by employees in the next 60 days by offering paid time off to those employees with appointments to give blood.
- Minnesota Mutual Foundation & Corporation Holding a special on-site Red Cross blood drive for employees. 
- The St. Paul Companies, Inc. Foundation Conducting blood drives throughout the U.S., and encouraging employee volunteerism in local communities.
- Wells Fargo Wells Fargo team members are coordinating blood drives with local Red Cross chapters in Wells Fargo communities across the country (full story).

Donor Funds

The following community/public foundations and companies have established funds or accounts to which donors can contribute for relief efforts.  Donations to these funds will go to The September 11th Fund at the New York Community Trust (see story) and/or to other disaster-related nonprofits.

- Catholic Community Foundation The Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis has established a relief fund at the foundation. Checks can be made out to "Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis" and sent to: National Disaster Relief Fund, 226 Summit Ave., St. Paul, MN 55102.
- Lutheran Community Foundation LCF welcomes donations from persons wishing to assist individuals, families and communities affected by the tragedy. Donations earmarked "East Coast Recovery" may be made either directly to the foundation by check or by credit card to the foundation account online at www.helping.org. 100% of these gifts will be directed to agencies involved in the relief and healing efforts.
- The Minneapolis Foundation Established its September 11th Fund thelp members of our community contribute to the relief effort. Contributions will be directed to the New York-based September 11th Fund to provide short- and long-term relief to the victims, their families, and the communities affected by the terrorist attacks (full story).
- Minnesota Foundation Teamed up with local companies and DoTheGood, Inc. to offer online giving to individuals who wish to help the families and communities affected by the September 11th terrorist attacks. All donations will be forwarded to the national September 11th Fund (full story). 
- Omaha Community Foundation Established the September 11 Fund. The foundation will accept donations of cash, stock, credit cards for the fund: Send to: September 11 Fund, Attn: Sara Russell, Omaha Community Foundation, 1623 Farnam St., Suite 600, Omaha, NE 68102. 
- The Saint Paul Foundation Established a September 11th Fund to help the families and communities affected by the nation's terrorist attacks. All donations will be forwarded to the national fund of the same name created by the United Way of New York City and The New York Community Trust (full story). 
- TCF Foundation & Corporation Opened an account for people to make donations to the New York Police & Fire Widows' and Children's Benefit Fund. Donations are being accepted at any TCF Bank location in Minnesota.
- U.S. Bancorp Opened “Disaster Relief Funds” for people who want to contribute to victims of the September 11th terrorist attacks. Contributions to the funds can be made at any Firstar Bank or U.S. Bank location (full story).
- Wells Fargo Established a Wells Fargo Red Cross account in all of its more than 3,000 banking stores in 23 states as a convenient way for customers, team members and all Americans to make personal contributions to the National Red Cross disaster relief fund (full story).

- Best Buy Co., Inc.  Conducting community blood drives at Best Buy stores and related facilities nationwide.
- Bremer Financial Corporation Bremer banks will facilitate donations by employees, customers and community members.
- Duluth-Superior Area Community Foundation In partnership with United Way of Greater Duluth and WDSE-TV/Channel 8 public television station, holding an on-air fund drive for The September 11th Fund on Sept. 18 (full story).
- Minnesota Foundation The foundation has been selected to administer a fund honoring Thomas Edward Burnett Jr., who died during the hijacking of United Airlines Flight 93 on September 11 (full story). 
- The Jay and Rose Phillips Family Foundation In light of the enormous and unprecedented outpouring of financial and other assistance from the American people for the September 11th relief efforts, The Jay and Rose Phillips Family Foundation has chosen a different approach. The foundation's trustees have agreed that the best response from the foundation is to support the local agencies that will be called on to shore up the families affected by the economic repercussions of September 11th and to support efforts to combat discrimination against our local Islamic community. The trustees believe that this is the best way for the foundation to carry out its mission, its focus on our local community, and its commitment to building good relationships among people of all races and religions, in this time of national crisis.  
- The St. Paul Companies, Inc. Foundation Working with company's Diversity Office on sponsorship of sessions for employees aimed at increasing understanding between the Muslim community and employees.
- U.S. Bancorp All U.S. Bank and Firstar Bank locations have been instructed to assist customers through the waiver of fees associated with credit card cash advances, wire transfer of funds, cashiers checks and money orders when those transactions are needed to assist individuals impacted by the disaster or stranded while traveling. In addition, U.S. Bank and Firstar Bank have created an emergency credit line product, which is available to individuals impacted by this tragedy (full story).
