A report of the American Red Cross' response to Sept. 11. As of 9/11/02,
the Red Cross' Liberty Disaster Relief Fund had received more than $1
billion in donations and distributed $643 million to 55,000 people. It
plans to distribute another $200 million by the end of 2002, and spend the
remaining $133 million over the next three to five years to support the
long-term needs of victims and their families.

A report of the assistance
provided by The September 11th Fund, which was created a few hours after
the terrorist attacks. As of 8/15/02, the Fund had raised $506 million and
made 273 grants totaling $336 million, with 86% going toward cash
assistance and services for 100,000 people and the remaining 14% used for
affected communities and rescue efforts. The Fund plans to use the
remaining $170 million for long-term needs of victims and their families.
