The Minneapolis Foundation Establishes Fund to Provide Relief to Victims of Terrorist Attacks The Minneapolis Foundation has established the September 11th Fund to receive donations from our community to assist victims of the terrorist attacks in New York City and elsewhere in the United States. The purpose of the fund is to mobilize financial resources to respond to the pressing needs of the victims and their families and all those affected by the tragedy. Contributions will be directed to a fund with the same name jointly administered by The New York Community Trust and The United Way of New York (see related story). All proceeds will be channeled from the New York-based fund to established emergency assistance and health and human services agencies, such as the American Red Cross in New York City, Washington D.C., or other affected areas. The Minneapolis Foundation has made a grant of $10,000 to seed the Minnesota contribution to the fund. Contributions may be sent to:
Please direct questions to Stuart Appelbaum at (612) 672-3820. Donors may specify the community (New York City, Washington, D.C. or other affected areas) where they would like their contributions to help. |
