3M Foundation will match up to $100,000 in 3M employee/retiree donations to American Red Cross or to CARE. 3M Foundation has also staged and is delivering to Haiti up to $1M in products through several NGO partners.


ADC Foundation has launched a two-fold response: an employee matching gifts initiative (1:1 match of gifts to any qualifying 501c3 that is providing relief services), and a corporate donation (also via the foundation) of $10,000 to the American Red Cross Haiti relief fund.


In response to the earthquake in Haiti, Allianz Life will make a $25,000 donation to support disaster relief and rebuilding efforts. Our corporate donation will be split equally between two organizations committed to helping Haiti rebuild and establish itself for the future - the American Red Cross International Response Fund (ARCIRF) and CARE International.

Allianz Life will also match employee donations dollar for dollar up to $25,000 to ARCIRF and CARE International.


Ameriprise Financial makes an annual grant to the American Red Cross for disaster relief. The 2010 grant is $125,000. In addition, the company has set up a special program to match employee and field member donations to the American Red Cross Haiti Relief and Development Fund up to $100,000.


The Andersen Corporate Foundation board of directors voted last Friday to donate $50,000 to the American Red Cross through its Central New Jersey chapter. The Central New Jersey chapter was chosen because 11 percent of Silver Line Building Products, an Andersen company, employees at its New Jersey plant are of Haitian descent.

The Andersen Corporate Foundation has donated nearly a quarter of a billion dollars over the past seven years alone to help in numerous national and international disaster relief operations.


Aveda

Aveda has identified an opportunity to support sustainable rebuilding projects in Haiti through one of our existing philanthropic programs. We will work with a current partner and grantee of our Earth Month program, Global Greengrants Fund (GGF), to support the Lambi Fund of Haiti's relief projects in both 2010 and 2011. We are currently planning to give a total of $60,000 to the Lambi Fund through GGF over the next two years. The Lambi Fund of Haiti is an organization with an excellent reputation for sustainable development in Haiti and they are dedicated to the recovery of Haitian communities through projects such as:
  • Repair of rainwater cisterns so people will have a supply of safe drinking water.
     
  • Planting the trees that are critically needed to stabilize topsoil and prevent mudslides.
     
  • Providing the seeds, tools and equipment for earthquake refugees to expand organic and sustainable agriculture, helping to both meet the increased demand for food and increase development of community enterprises.

Aveda is also supporting earthquake relief efforts through our Pure Privilege loyalty program. A special reward was developed for guests interested in helping Haiti by redeeming their loyalty points for a donation. Pure Privilege members are able to redeem 1500 loyalty points for a $20 donation to Oxfam for earthquake relief. The program will run through February.


In response, Best Buy is contributing $200,000 to the International Federation of the Red Cross and Mercy Corps for the relief efforts in Haiti. The contribution includes:
  • $100,000 contribution to the International Federation of the Red Cross for immediate response efforts in Haiti
     
  • $100,000 contribution to Mercy Corps, a strategic Best Buy partner through the Clinton Global Initiative and Best Buy Children's Foundation's for both immediate and long-term infrastructure re-building (including technology) in Haiti.


Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota is contributing $10,000 in funds through the Blue Cross Foundation to Feed My Starving Children (FMSC), located in Eagan, MN, that will help purchase more than 55,000 meals for people in the devastated country.

Last week FMSC sent its first shipment of meals to Haiti, planned for arrival this week. FMSC will package an additional 3 million meals and the Blue Cross donation will purchase more than 55,000 of these meals. The food sent by FMSC is developed to help malnourished children. We are also providing volunteer opportunities for our employees to assemble meals at the FMSC site here in Eagan, MN, where our corporate offices are located.


The Buuck Family
Foundation
 

The Buuck family has authorized a $5,000 grant from the Buuck Family Foundation to Doctors Without Borders to be directed toward the Haiti relief effort.


Cargill provided an immediate donation of $50,000 split between two of our long-term partners, CARE and World Food Programme, both with significant on-going operations in the Haiti.

Donations made by Cargill employees around the world to Red Cross, CARE or WFP will be matched by Cargill as part of its Natural Disaster Relief program.

In the Twin Cities, Cargill volunteers will package 50,000 meals in January and February for the nonprofit Kids Against Hunger for delivery to Haiti. (More on Cargill's response...)


Carlson and the Carlson Family Foundation will make a $50,000 grant to the American Red Cross in support of the Haiti relief efforts. Additionally, employee contributions to the American Red Cross will be matched up to $60,000.


In the five weeks since the earthquake devastated Haiti on January 12, the Catholic Community Foundation has granted $189,022 to 14 nonprofits engaged in or supporting relief efforts. This outpouring of generosity was in part a response to the Catholic Community Foundation’s Jan. 13 challenge to its board and donors to raise $50,000 by January 29 for Sacred Heart Haiti Foundation. That goal was exceeded by 21 percent when $63,416 was collected for the Rochester, Minn.-based nonprofit.
The remaining $125,606 was distributed to the American Red Cross, American Refugee Committee, the Archdiocese of Saint Paul and Minneapolis’ Haiti Fund, CARE, Catholic Relief Services, Central Association of the Miraculous Medal, Church of the Annunciation’s Mission Haiti Fund, Cross International, Friends of the Orphans, Hope for Haiti, and World Vision International. The Central Minnesota Community Foundation has established the Help for Haiti Fund to support relief efforts underway in Haiti for the victims of the January 12th earthquake and has provided the first donation to the fund. A total of $15,000 has been committed from CMCF and its affiliate foundation, the Brainerd Lakes Area Community Foundation. The Foundation will also work with other local funders to generate donations.



 

The CHS Foundation will contribute a total of $25,000 to CARE and American Red Cross International Disaster Relief Fund in support of Haitian relief efforts. The foundation will also set aside an additional $25,000 to match CHS employee contributions to these designated organizations.
 


Comcast Corporation has announced that it is providing over $1 million in cash and in-kind support for disaster relief for earthquake victims in Haiti, including cash contributions to the American Red Cross and Télécoms Sans Frontières (Telecom without Borders). (More on Comcast's response...)

Delta Dental made a $10,000 contribution to the American Red Cross for Haiti Relief efforts.

Deluxe Corporation Foundation has given a $15,000 grant to the Red Cross to support the relief efforts in Haiti.


Ecolab said it will contribute $1.4 million of cleaning and sanitation products to help meet needs in Haiti, including hand sanitizers and surface sanitizers. In addition to the product donation, the Ecolab Foundation has offered a global matching gift program, through which it will match all Ecolab associate contributions to the Red Cross up to $1,000 per associate up to a total of $35,000. The H.B. Fuller Foundation has contributed $50,000 for relief in Haiti, directed to Partners in Health (PIH), a U.S.-based nonprofit that has been working on the ground in Haiti for more than 20 years. PIH works to bring modern medical care to poor communities, and is an international model in combating infectious diseases in developing countries and in using volunteer medical personnel to accomplish their work.


The General Mills Foundation will provide $250,000 to support disaster relief and long-term rebuilding efforts in Haiti. The Foundation will make a grant in the amount of $100,000 to the American Red Cross International Disaster Relief Fund and $150,000 to CARE International for long-term rebuilding efforts. The Foundation will also provide a dollar-for-dollar match of employee contributions for Haiti earthquake relief to the American Red Cross up to $50,000. GiveMN is responding to the disaster in Haiti by encouraging everyone to visit the site for information on several national and local organizations which are supporting earthquake relief efforts in Haiti.

Donors can chose from one of the featured organizations on the home page or find one of hundreds of Haiti-related nonprofit organizations by typing “Haiti” in the search box. GiveMN is the first-of-its-kind online giving portal. It provides donors with information about organizations that match their philanthropic goals. (More on GiveMN's response...)



 

In an effort to keep Haiti's local media from falling into a communication breakdown, the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation has delivered a $200,000 grant to keep the country's radio stations broadcasting key information to survivors.

The grant was given to Internews, an international media development group that has promised to assess the damage done to Haitian news organizations and provide resources for them. (More on the Knight Foundation's response...)



 

Lutheran Community Foundation is directing donors to support Lutheran World Relief, who have partners on the ground in Haiti. To learn more, visit the Foundation's website.


The Medica Foundation made a $5,000 grant to the American Red Cross. Medica employees and board members met the challenge grant with an additional $9,192 donated to the American Red Cross, Parish Twinning Programs of America and other designated organizations. Total giving for Haiti relief efforts was $14,192.
 


Medtronic, Inc. has announced that the company has donated nearly $900,000 in medical devices and surgical supplies to help meet urgent medical needs in Haiti. The company's response has surpassed $2.1 million for immediate and long-term relief efforts. (More on Medtronic's response...)


The Minneapolis Foundation has posted a list on their website of organizations conducting relief operations in Haiti. Interested donors may recommend grants from their Donor Advised Funds to support this work.


The Mortenson Family Foundation
and Mortenson Construction
 

The Mortenson Family Foundation and Mortenson Construction have made a $100,000 combined cash donation in support of long-term recovery efforts. The cash donation - $50,000 from The Mortenson Family Foundation and $50,000 from Mortenson Construction - will be made to World Vision, Doctors Without Borders, and Friends of the Orphans. In addition, with the support of Mortenson Company suppliers, the company also donated more than $60,000 in materials to aid in immediate recovery efforts.


The Mosaic Company is contributing $500,000 for earthquake relief efforts in Haiti. Mosaic’s $500,000 contribution will provide both immediate and long-term assistance, supporting emergency medical services, triage and mobile communications.

Mosaic will contribute $125,000 to each of the following four organizations: Canadian Red Cross, American Refugee Committee, American Red Cross and International Red Cross.

The company also said it will match contributions for each of its 7,400 global employees to relief organizations working to rebuild Haiti.  (More on Mosaic's response...)



 

The Northland Foundation made a $5,000 grant to the American Red Cross in support of their relief efforts in Haiti. (More on Northland Foundation's response...)


With the reports of municipal water supplies cut off in the Haitian capital of Port-Au-Prince following the devastating earthquake in Haiti, the need for water is crucial. Pentair, Inc., a global water solutions provider, in coordination with its Foundation, is immediately donating $200,000 to fund portable water treatment systems and related supplies to Haiti.

Working with the company’s charitable partner, Water Missions International (WMI), Pentair is able to provide 10 Living Water Treatment Systems (LWTS) and five chlorinators. These water systems can provide potable drinking water to approximately 100,000 total people daily. (More on Pentair, Inc.'s response...)


Piper Jaffray will support Haiti disaster relief with a special matching gift program. All contributions to the American Red Cross & International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies will be matched 1:1 to the American Red Cross International Relief Fund. The match will not be counted toward an employee’s annual maximum for the standard matching gifts program. Employee gifts will be matched up to $25,000 and we will continue to monitor relief effort needs and employee responses.


The RBC Foundation - USA is the charitable giving arm for RBC Wealth Management in the United States. As a wholly owned subsidiary of Royal Bank of Canada (RBC), RBC Wealth Management and the RBC Foundation - USA will match up to $500 for employee contributions made to organizations providing disaster relief and humanitarian aid through our Employee Gift Matching Program, in addition to RBC's donation of $100,000 to Red Cross Haiti Earthquake Relief Fund.


C.H. Robinson is matching 100% of employee gifts to the American Red Cross and International Red Cross for Haiti relief efforts. There's no cap on these matching funds.

It is also providing donated transportation and logistics services to a wide variety of customers and humanitarian organizations – transporting donated water, heavy equipment, food, construction supplies, etc. There is no cap on this in-kind donation at this time either.


St. Jude Medical Foundation is matching donations to Haiti relief organizations made by all employees worldwide from the day of the earthquake through Feb. 15. Donations made to international organizations will be matched to the American Red Cross.


In response to the 7.0-magnitude earthquake that struck Haiti and devastated Port-au-Prince, the nation’s capitol, Target announced that it will donate $500,000 to support Haitian families impacted by the disaster. The donation will be made to the American Red Cross, which is providing desperately needed supplies and disaster-management services to the area through its International Response Fund.

In addition, Target Volunteers are working in partnership with students from The Fair School in Minneapolis and ImpactLives, a local non-profit organization, to prepare more than one million meals to send to Haitian earthquake victims. (More on Target's response...)


The Thomson Reuters Foundation has launched a first-of-its kind, free disaster-information service for the people of Haiti. The service allows survivors of Haiti's earthquake to receive critical information by text message directly to their phones, free of charge. (More on Thomson Reuters' response...)


In less than one month, Thrivent Financial for Lutherans and its members have contributed $3 million for earthquake response efforts in Haiti. More than 12,000 Thrivent Financial members contributed to the “Helping Haiti” effort, which provided a $1 Thrivent Financial contribution to every $2 members gave to any of four Lutheran relief agencies.

Thrivent Financial pledged to add up to $1 million to donations its members made. As of today, Thrivent member contributions surpassed $2 million. This means the full Thrivent Financial pledge of $1 million has been reached for a combined impact of $3 million toward helping Haiti.

The Toro Company has made a $10,000 donation to the American Red Cross International Response Fund. In addition Toro will match employee donations to the ARC International Response Fund until March 1st. They will continue to monitor the need for Toro product to assist in the clean up process.


The Travelers Companies, Inc. announced that in response to the devastation caused by the earthquake in Haiti, the Travelers Foundation is sending $50,000 to the American Red Cross to assist relief efforts.

The Travelers Foundation also has created a special disaster relief matching program so that Travelers employees may contribute between $25 and $500 to the Haitian earthquake relief efforts through the American Red Cross, Doctors Without Borders, International Rescue Committee, Save the Children, UNICEF or the Clinton Bush Haiti Fund and have their contributions matched. UnitedHealth Group donated $100,000 to the American Red Cross International Response Fund, which helps victims of countless crises around the world, including the recent earthquake in Haiti. In addition, the company will match employee contributions to charitable partner Global Impact, dollar for dollar up to $100,000.

Also, OptumHealth, UnitedHealth Group’s health and wellness business, is providing a free emotional-support help line for people in the United States that may have relatives or friends in Haiti. Staffed by experienced behavioral health specialists, the help line offers assistance to callers seeking help in dealing with stress, anxiety and the grieving process. United Way of Olmsted County is promoting and providing links to the United Way Worldwide Disaster Relief Fund for Haiti on its webpage.


The U.S. Bancorp Foundation will donate $100,000 to support the American Red Cross in its efforts to assist victims of the earthquake that ravaged Haiti this past week.

U.S. Bank will also refund fees for remittances to Haiti made by U.S. Bank retail customers from any U.S. Bank branch. The fee-free money transfers will be available now through February 28, 2010, to support relief efforts for victims of the earthquake.

In addition, the U.S. Bancorp Foundation has waived the minimum $50 contribution necessary for a match from the Employee Matching Gifts program to encourage all employees to reach out to the thousands of victims of this natural disaster. To help victims of the earthquake in Haiti, Wells Fargo & Company (NYSE: WFC) is contributing $100,000 to the American Red Cross disaster relief fund to assist with recovery efforts. (More on Wells Fargo's response...)

 


Xcel Energy is making a $50,000 contribution to the American Red Cross International Response Fund, and also matching employee contributions to relief organizations of their choice up to $750 per employee.
