Emerging Practitioners in Philanthropy (EPIP-MN) Networking Lunch

Date: 02/10/2012 Time: 11:30 AM – 01:00 PM Location: Common Roots Cafe, 2558 Lyndale Ave. South, Minneapolis, MN, 55405

Description: The mission of Emerging Practitioners in Philanthropy (EPIP) is to strengthen the next generation of grantmakers to advance effective social justice philanthropy. EPIP-MN network members are grantmakers, trustees, donors and related philanthropy professionals who generally are under age 40, work in junior positions with philanthropic organizations, or are relatively new to the field. Attend this monthly luncheon to exchange ideas and develop a strong network of colleagues.

Robyn Perry wants to know: “How does your foundation support the technological infrastructure of your grantees?” At this month’s lunch, join Robyn, program associate at the Progressive Technology Project, for a discussion of the role of technology in the nonprofit sector and the connections between technology and the foundation-grantee relationship.

Robyn grew up in the State of Jefferson and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Linguistics and Italian Studies 2008 from UC Santa Cruz.  Through the Global Information Internship Program at UCSC, a program that trains students to become "info-activists", she connected with the Progressive Technology Project and moved to the Twin Cities.  She feels lucky to have landed at PTP, and to get to teach and learn from organizers through PTP programs.

She has tutored college-level writing, Italian, and Spanish, and is enjoying transferring her teaching skills to technology trainings. She manages PTP's database, event logistics, and supports PTP's program and communications work.

She loves the Minnesota climate all year long. Depending on the season, you can either find her swimming, biking, square-dancing, or salsa-ing.
