The Grants Coordinator will assist the Grants Manager with the day-to-day grants management systems and processes for the Cargill Foundation and Cargill’s corporate giving program. The Grants Coordinator will serve as the administrator for our internal grants database system (MicroEdge GIFTS) and other grant-related information systems. The position will coordinate the grant application and review process, ensuring data integrity and accuracy. This position is also responsible for processing grant payments, preparing correspondence and executing program and financial reports. The Grants Coordinator works in partnership with the Grants Manager to process nearly 1300 annual grant requests totaling more than $30 million.
This position works within a global, multi-disciplinary Corporate Affairs function based in Cargill’s Minneapolis headquarters. The Grants Coordinator collaborates with CA colleagues as part of the Corporate Responsibility team, to help Cargill and its businesses strengthen relationships with key stakeholders and fulfill the company’s commitment to be a responsible corporate citizen.
Principal Accountabilities: 30% – Manage the flow of grant requests from initial review to final disposition – administer and monitor the application process, verify completeness of all received documents, perform accurate data entry and processing, prepare check requests and correspondence documents. Work closely with corporate Financial Reporting and Accounts Payable departments on issuing and monitoring payments.
25% – Administer the grants management database (MicroEdge GIFTS) and demonstrate proficiency with the various modules. Maintain data integrity and accuracy throughout the system. Monitor online grant application and reporting processes and act as liaison between applicants and grants team.
20% – Coordinate and prepare in a timely manner grant related and program reporting and financial reporting. Create and monitor grant requirements in the grant database, ensuring timely grant reporting from grantees through online system. Assist with contribution analysis and giving trends.
25% – Assist with the coordination and monitoring of select community programs and partnerships: Support implementation activities associated with Cargill’s new Global Scholars program. Respond to email, Web and phone inquiries, help collect and track scholarship data from scholarship partners, support Cargill team on events/activities related to the Scholars leadership on enrichment activities. Work with Cargill businesses and hunger-relief partners to better track and monitor Cargill product donations. Support Grants Manager in administering the Global Partnership Fund matching grant program for Cargill businesses and Cargill Cares Councils.
