Strategic Partners
MCF members represent a variety of diverse funders with varied funding
interests. We believe that the work of grantmakers is strengthened by
bringing
together the various special interest and affinity groups to allow
members with common interests to learn and share together. In our
continuing efforts to work more closely with our locally based affinity
groups, we are pleased to announce a new opportunity for Council
involvement called Strategic Partnerships.
We hope this new partnership program will help grantmaker affinity
groups feel welcome and view the Council as an allied organization
as we continue to work together to provide opportunities to learn,
discuss and network.
The Minnesota Council on Foundations defines strategic partners as peer
networks and/or independent coalitions of grantmaking organizations with
a shared interest in a particular community of people, subject or
funding area. These groups meet regularly and provide a forum to discuss
common challenges, share promising practices and lessons, exchange
information, and facilitate collaborative programs (e.g. Affinity Groups
of Color, Hispanics in Philanthropy, Native Americans in Philanthropy,
etc.).
